DVD and CD Now Available 

Diana and I are pleased to announce that the two documentaries we filmed and produced in Kenya during June and July of 2006 are now available for sale.  Also, we have a twenty-eight track CD of the Turkana People singing in various locations of the Turkana District of Kenya.  All proceeds from these discs will be equally divided between the Turkwell Mission (Father Edward Muge SMA) in Northern Kenya and the Mary Mother of God Mission (Father Fabian Hevi SMA) in Embulbul near Nairobi Kenya.  Details on the discs are as follows: 

  “Finding Jesus in Turkana” This is a 37-minute documentary that was filmed at the Turkwell Mission in the Turkana District of Kenya in late June/early July of 2006.  The documentary features the lives and worship of the Turkana people at the main mission site, the primary and girl’s school, as well as several more remote out stations.  The video also features footage filmed inside the main village.   

  “A Miracle at Embulbul” This is a 31-documentary that was filmed at the Embulbul mission and surrounding out stations in July of 2006. The video features the complex works of the mission including the primary and secondary schools of the mission, health-care efforts, and the Embulbul village.  Also featured in this video is footage filmed in Kamanrunya, a desperately poor out station covered by the mission. 

  “Images of Turkana” This is a short photographic montage set to music of the Turkana people.  This piece features some of Diana’s finest photographic work and gives a beautiful window into the spirit and hope of the Turkana People. 

  “Songs of the Turkana” This CD features the enchanting and energetic songs and other small vocal wonders recorded on location in the Turkana District during filming.  The songs are sung in Turkana with an occasional sprinkling of Swahili. 
To hear the Turkana sing is to hear the beautiful melody of the human spirit come to life. 

All of the video was shot in an ENG (electronic news gathering) style.  The videos are narrated by Diana and feature interview pieces from the various missionaries and local community leaders.  The videos can be ordered in either NTSC format (Canada and U.S.) video standard or in PAL (everyplace else in the world) format.  The CD’s are 24 bit, high quality digital productions and can be played anywhere on any CD system.
