Jewelry Sale Update

Greetings Our Brother and Sisters in Christ!

Father Fabian Hevi, SMA was here in Peoria Illinois, USA this weekend (December 9-11) as part of a North American visit to raise funds for his mission works in Embulbul and to provide education on the needs in Kenya.

During his visit we were able to deliver sixty copies of the documentary we filmed at his mission in July of 2006.  These films will be distributed internationally to assist in ongoing funding of the missions work in Embulbul.  We remain hopeful and ask for your prayers of support that this documentary will provide a vehicle to enhance much needed funding for his mission work.

During Father Fabian’s visit to Peoria we were blessed to hold an African Jewelry sale at Saint Anns Catholic Church.  Members of the Good Samaritan Group at Father Fabian’s mission produce the jewelry. Father Fabian and concerned members of the Embulbul community to bring victims of AIDS from the Embulbul village out of isolation and stigmatization and into a loving, Christian community formed the Good Samaritan Group a year ago.  Currently, there are sixty-two people with AIDS being served by this group.  In producing this jewelry as well as knitted pullovers, the group gains self-esteem and a sense of purpose as they work to support themselves.

The sale was an overwhelming success.  Over three hundred pieces of jewelry were sold!  We were able to raise enough money to fund the Good Samaritan Group and it’s work for one month.  This money will be used to provide AIDS medication, testing, education and food for victims of AIDS including children orphaned by AIDS.  Praise God!

If you are looking for a place to provide some financial support, this is a great opportunity to give.
