                                                                                                29/01/2007

Dear Friends,

Receive much greetings from me. I am a Turkana girl from Turkwell. I was born on the 20th of May 1989. I started my primary school at Turkana Girls primary school from nursery to standard eight. I failed the last examination for joining a secondary school. I then went to get more studies at Kacheimeri primary which is beside the Turkwell Mission. I sat for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Examinations (KCPE) and I made 312 marks. I was lucky to be admitted to Turkana Girls Secondary School in Lorugum.

I have both parents and both of them are living and teaching. I have nine brothers and sisters. I would like to study and become someone who will be able to stand on my own and help my own family improve their lives.

I would like to study my education up to University level to be able to achieve my life’s goals. The Mission has helped me by teaching me to be hard working and to love my brothers and sisters. It provided water for us in the village and solar lights in two of our classrooms for us to study. The mission of Turkwell organises us as youth to improve our lives by organising seminars and workshops on different sides of life.

I wish to thank you all for the support you give to help me study and I am ready to work hard as my show of thanks for your support

I wish you a blessed time.

Yours affectionately,

Irene Lomoro Adekei.

My names are Kebbo Nancy Alim, I ma eighteen years old. I come from Turkwell. My parents are not catholic but I am baptised and receive communion in the Catholic Church. I am the first born in the family, we are five in numbers, two girls and two boys. I started schooling at Turkana Girls Primary School up to standard seven and changed to Kacheimeri and I failed, then I went to another school and again I did not make it, so I decided to go and learn home craft and cooking at the Kakuma Home craft school.

My both parents are alive but have no jobs to pay my fee for the school. I would like to thank you for offering me the chance to be an independent person who can help myself and others in the society.

The mission of turwell has helped me to build my strengths and I gained a lot from the spiritual guidance, morals and social help I have received. May God bless you in your daily undertakings.

Yours faithfully,

Nancy Kebbo Alim

I am Sharon Muya and I was born in 1990. I come from a poor family and now live with my grand parents since both my parents are dead. My mother was a teacher in Turkana Girls Primary School but died last year. I was schooling in Turkana girls primary where by I did my KCEP and I got 237 marks. I would like to study so hard so that I can live a better life so that I may help those ones who will be in need of my help.

In my future I would like to have my own work and earn my own salary. The church has helped me in so many ways to be a better person and help my grand parents who are not able to help themselves. So I am just giving God thanks and praise and all my life because I know he will care for me through you.

Thank you for giving me this opportunity for sponsorship. I promise to work hard. May God bless you all in your daily activities.

Yours faithfully,

Sharon Muya.

                                                                                    Kaitlu Boys Secondary School.

Dear Friends,

Receive warm greetings from me. I am a boy from a family of eight. We have six boys and two girls. I am the fifth born. My two brothers and sisters failed their exams and refused to repeat. They are now staying at home doing nothing. The third born is a girl, she is now in form two.

I failed my first exams for joining secondary school and I repeated in Kacheimeri and got 322 marks out of 500. And I have to join Katilu Boys Secondary School. I want to study so that I can help my relatives and my community when I am able to get a job which will help me to have a happy life.

The Mission of Turkwell has done so much to help us and our community in the gardens, with water, lights in the school, renovations of schools and many things. We are very grateful. I will work hard to use well the support you are making to help me learn and to be able to become a better person in life.

Yours affectionately,

James Illikwell.

                                                                                    29/01/2007

Dear Friends,

Receive warm greetings from your child. I was born on the 21st of Sept 1991 in Turkwell. We are seven in our family, five children and parents. We are three in school primary school. Others are helping our parents with the homework. Our father is the one who looks after the animals, also mother provides us with food through making mats and small garden.

I started school in Kabulokor and I came to Kacheimeri later. I did my KCPE and I passed and that is why I was given admission place for form one at AGC- Lokichar Secondary School.

I want to study because I want to make plans for my life by helping my parents, my fellow brothers and sisters and also my neighbours. I want to study so hard up to University if the Lord wishes in order to have a good plan for my life.

I am very grateful to the church for all it has been doing for my people. I thank you for accepting to sponsor me. It means I will work hard and harder in order to perform well in my studies.

            I wish you good life.

Yours faithfully,
